Bangladesh Hazardous Waste (e-waste) Management Rules, 2021 was enacted under the Bangladesh Environment Conservation Act, 1995. These rules establish a regulatory framework for the management of electrical and electronic waste, restricting 10 hazardous substances in electronic products similar to the EU RoHS regulation. Under this framework, all manufacturers, importers, traders, recyclers, dismantlers, repairers, and collection centres must register with the Department of Environment (DoE), and producers are required to submit an approved WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) management plan.
