Electronic Waste (Management and Handling) Rules 2010/India RoHS/India WEEE is a legislation that regulates the generation, collection, storage, transportation, import and export of electronic and electrical equipment (EEE). This is to ensure environmentally sound recycling, treatment and disposal of electronic waste. The legislation also includes a chapter that deals with the reduction of the use of hazardous substances in the manufacture of EEE. This chapter’s rules limit the use of 20 substances in electronic products for sale in India. The legislation took effect May 12, 2013.
