Technical Regulation Decree No. 139/Ukraine RoHS – Ukraine RoHS is based on the EU’s RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU . The most recent version of the regulation, Technical Regulation Decree No. 139, went into effect in 2017. The regulation puts restrictions on the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). The 10 chemical substances restricted are lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium, PBBs, PBDEs, DEHP, BBP, DBP, and DIBP. All are restricted to 0.1%wt except for cadmium, which is 0.01%. The categories covered in this regulation are: large household appliances; small household appliances; IT and telecommunications equipment; consumer equipment; lighting equipment; electrical and electronic tools; toys, leisure and sports equipment; medical devices; monitoring and control instruments including industrial monitoring and control instruments; automatic dispensers; and other EEE not covered in previous categories.
Similar to EU RoHS, some types of EEE are excluded from the RoHS Directive scope, such as equipment needed for national security, including weapons and ammunition and materials specially designed for military uses and equipment intended for outer space. Certain applications are also exempt from the restrictions for limited timeframes defined in the regulation.
Additionally, a RoHS Declaration of Conformity (DoC) must be prepared in Ukrainian language for RoHS compliance when applying for EMC certification.
